Bachelor of Technology Nautical Science
Navigate your Education
Together, CBU and the Canadian Coast Guard College (CCGC) created a unique program where students set sail toward an adventurous career. Focused on marine safety and environmental protection, this one-of-a kind program provides training in either Marine Engineering or Marine Navigation as an Officer Cadet with the CCGC.
The four-year Officer Training Program at the Canadian Coast Guard College is a university degree. Graduates receive a Bachelor of Technology in Nautical Science from CBU and a Commercial Certification as a Ship’s Officer from Transport Canada.
Why a BTNS at CBU?
The CCGC trains Officer Cadets to help protect Canada’s 243,000 km coastline, its vast ocean resources and the individuals who go to sea. This training requires more than just time spent in a classroom. As a student at the CCGC, you’ll work hands on while receiving practical training using complex simulators. And when you’re ready, you’ll set sail and use your skills at sea from this rigorous four year program.
The Canadian Coast Guard College offers a state of the art training facility, committed and professional staff and a gorgeous location on the shores of the Atlantic, making it the ideal marine training environment.
